Stupid car is making horrid noise comming from the motor. I have no idea why oil has always been changed regularly with only mobil 1 Synthetic. Going to stealer ship tomorrow and i will know for sure.

The funny thing is that we first noticed the whine at the drive through at Wendy's too! He thought that it was the throw out too but after reading this: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....g+clutch+noise
I convinced him other wise. He taliked to the guys at the tranny shop and they agreed that it was an internal bearing. So we pulled his tranny (for the 3rd time) and dropped it off at the tranny shop for a complete rebuild. We put the thing back in WITH the old release bearing (only had a few K on it since we were in there last fall to replace is sh!tty spec clutch that fried after 8K) and the whine is now gone.
The shop gave us a box full of bearings and syncros and I must say that those bearings had some decent wear to them. One in paticular was extremely pitted all over the rollers.
I would drop in that 96 I30 5spd you got layin around. Since that thing was recently rebuilt, you should be good to go for a while once it is in.

. Plus, you can now throw in a 5th gen clutch while you are at it
.Payment sent for that flywheel
... But your 99 will work fine. Unless of course you wanna dip your toes in dangerous waters and install an aftermarket one.

Yep that is a vid of my car...thanks bijan.
Well Thankful i took the car for a ride this morning on my way to class and i noticed when i pushed the clutch in the noise would go away and the car also accelerated normally and shifter fine so i guess i was being over zealous with my conclusion about spun bearing. At the time when i tried to determine the noise it sounded like it was comming from the motor. The noise isn't as loud today it comes and goes. As long as the clutch is in it stops i assume it probally still makes the noise when i am driving in gear? It sucks to my clutch is still mint 125k and no sign of slipage. Now i will need to replace the Clutch since the tranny will be off. My plan is to drive it until the tranny breaks then i will have the I30t Vlsd tranny installed.THANK GOD i didn't sell it.
For laughs i went to car-part to find any tranny in this area open or locking there were very few with high milage. What confuses me the most is what would cause something like this to go wrong with a transmission? I have been using MT90 Gear oil and it shifts so good no grinding. I can get into 1st if i am in 2nd at a 2-mph roll? I thought 1999 tranmissions were least prone to this problem? My car is a late production 1999 also since its is a SE-L.
Could it just be the throw bearing? I have always gotten a wirring noise when i used to start in the morning and clutch was not depressed? If the tranny was truly in bad shape wouldn't it shift notchy or something? I should also mention i did have to replace the axle seal on the drivers side on sunday since it was leaking. I couldn't get any MT90 in time so i filled it with 2 qt's of Mobil 1 Synthetic and left what MT90 was in there in it. Could we have damaged something when doing the seal? We were first using the old seal to tap the new seal in but accidentally got both seals stuck in the tranny? Could we have damaged something? I got another seal from nissan and we installed that one.
Any explanations?

Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90 API GL-4 maybe that will shut her up

This noise has nothing to do with the work you did on the differential side seal. At worst putting 2 seals in there would only cause a leak, not failure on a bearing deep inside the transmission.
No moatter what, your cheapest option is to buy some new axles and clutch (probably needed after 125K anyways) and install them along with that lsd tranny you got. You will be very impressed with the launching grip you get with that thing!

You think so if that is the case i am golden i am going to flush it again and install some new tranny fluid i didn't do a full flush when i did the seal on sundat all i did was mix in the Mobil 75W90 synthetic with the MT90 because i didn't trust just having 100% mobil 1 in there.
I am going to try the Amsoil tranny fluid check it out

And they never charged him. I am on week 3 myself.
