"Safe mode"....??

I'm not as sure on 4th gen trannys as 3rd gens, but from what I've heard sometimes the trans. computer thinks there is something wrong with the tranny, so it locks up in 3rd in an attempt to "get you home" without the car totally crapping out on you. I guess it was just a glitch(since the car is riding fine now), if it happens again soon than maybe there is a prob, but usually when this happens just turn the car off wait a few seconds tunr it back on and everythign should be fine! don't worry.... remember trans fluid is "suggested" to be changed every 15k or 6 months...just some advice!

My advice on changing your transmission fluid is if the fluid has not been changed every 15-20,000 miles dont mess with it. My third gen had 93,000 miles and after I changed the fluid the transmission only made it another 6k. If aint broke don't fix it.
