Do i need rear fender modification....

I read all over the tire/wheel forum and couldn't find the answer.

This is a stock suspension car, 2003 Max SE.
Do i need to do any fender/suspension modification to be able to fit OEM 17" 350Z wheels on my maxima? (size: 7.5 x 17 / 8 x 17) (Offset: 33/30)

I installed the rear OEM wheels from a 2004 "Z" with 235/50/17 tires and i have a problem. With someone on the back seat and going over bumps/dips....it seems like the tire is rubbing on the fender. These wheels stick out a little too much - i can see it.
I know that people put 17" Z wheels on their Max all the time....does everyone have this problem?? I like the wheels a lot but i don't want tires to rub on my fender. what should i do? I need help.

thanks....

the reason you are rubbing is that the tires are larger diameter than stock. You should use 235/45/17 in the back.

I run G35 wheels which are 18x8 with a 30mm offset with 235/40/18 and have never had rubbing problems at all with a Maxspeed drop.

Thank you! Your post gives me some hope that i don't have to get rid of these wheels.

So, if i want to "push it" and i put 245/45/17 on the rear ....would this cause any issues. (i know the rear wheels can take it - they are 8 x 17) According to the tire/wheel size calculator this is almost a "perfect" match for the stock 225/50/17. It will give almost a stock diameter.
Thanks!

it SHOULD be fine...I'm assuming you don't have a LOW drop? Also assuming your rear shocks(struts) are not "dead"....

Nope. No drop. Suspension is STOCK 100%, except the addition of RSB, FSTB. The shocks are fine as far as i know. car has ~60k miles.

Thanks!

You are problably rubbing because you got 235/50 tires
i got 350z 18" with 245/45/18 all around i only rub i little bit in the back when i have more than 2 people if i pass over bumps.
I going to lower it soon i got the maxspeed just dont have time to do it yet. I dont know how is it going to after the drop.
