speedbleeders a good buy?

alright guys, im a total brake noob, but i do have experience changing pads... my bad area is the actual fluid and bleeding, etc. i was looking at speedbleeders, and they seem like a good method of doing it if i dont always have a 2nd person around, and their just easier.... but yeah, are these all their cracked up to be or do they leak air in? thanks in advance

this is probably a dumb question but I would still like an answer. Do you need the speed bleeders for all four calipers if you are going to use these? Or do you just need one on the caliper that is furthest away from the M/C?

Why would you only need one when you have to do all four calipers?

i would put them on all 4 as air can get into each brake line or caliper and just in case you would need to bleed all 4.. when bleading the brakes i work my way back and end at the furthest away, still doing all 4

You need all four if you plan on keeping them in there. You could just buy one and use it then screw back in the stock one but jsut buy all four and keep them in.

I dont think that would work. As soon as you take the bleeder out you will loose fluid out of the caliper and may get some air in there. Just buy all 4 they are not expensive ~$30 for the set.

I thought the fluid loss would be extremely minimal, like 6 drops but yea I wouldnt do that anyway its not expensive for a full set.

You do realize that you're bleeding them in the wrong order right? They didn't just make up the rule to start bleeding furthest away from the MC for ****s and giggles.

I think you are better off in the long run bleeding your brakes with a MityVac. You'll get a lot more mileage out of one considering you can use it for other things. Bleeding brakes still is a one man operation and it is easy to use.

Just googled the MityVac product and looks like a good product. I saw a bump on ebay for a very good price (so far). One thing that strikes as odd, everwhere I am reading a description about this product, they say its great for bleed brakes on ATV, motorcycles and even some auto mobiles with ABS. . . was it not really intended for Passenger vehicle use?

Still looks like a great product and about the same price as speed bleeders, but with this seems a bit easier, and cleaner.

They work great. Easy to install and very easy to use. You'll end up bleeding the brakes more often because it is so easy.

though I have never used these I am guessing you do it just like when you are bleeding the breaks with normal bleeders....hook a hose to the top of the bleeder and run it to a cup
