Heated seats question.

I have an '05 SE with the heated seats. The funny thing is that a few days ago, I noticed that my driver's seat starts heating up for no reason. I checked the wire going to the seat and it looks like it got pinched in the seat track. Does anyone know where I can disconnect this thing until I can get to the dealer and have it fixed?

I pulled the fuse labeled SEAT MOD and that killed a bunch of the electronics in the car.

I swore I saw one that was specific to the seat heaters, maybe under the hood next to the battery???

Glad to have helped. I need to check mine as well, sometimes I swear they must be on even though the switch is off! I know it's been hot lately but sometimes I do wonder...

same here. i thought about pulling the fuse too. one dealer said it's working fine while i had them check other issues. another dealer replaced "a pin that may be making a ground when i sit on it." I noticed a difference right away. but every once in awhile i can't tell. For me it's just the lower back area. Only way I convinced myself something was really wrong was by realizing at night while the seat was cool and i had the A/C on, my back would still get hot. And I would turn on the Low setting to see if there was a difference. but it's so subtle, I never know 100%.

During my 3 hour trip home form the beach, 85 out, I felt mostly comfortable. So I think it's fixed...

I have noticed that the seat seems to get warm, even when not on. I wonder if the ambient heat causes the heat coils in the seat to retain heat, or heat up faster?
