How do i make my auto shift at higher rpms?

This probably sounds noob but thats what i am. What mod can i do to make my auto shift at higher rpms short of a tranny swap? I was thinking of super charging but theres no point if its going ot shift at 3k rpms right?

turn off O/D. Put the tranny in "1" until redline, then "2"-redline, then "D"

I have a (snow | auto | power) traction button when I want to be able to ride the gas without it changing up on me .. I can hit the power button .. it holds it gear longer, and lets you take your foot on/off gas and not have it change on you ... (stock on Nissan Cefiro's)

I'm going 5 speed vvvvery soon, so it might be up for sale. All depends if our trans are the same...

if you floor it it will shift at damn near redline...basically the more gas you give it and harder you accelerate, the higher it will shift at

i think if you leave it in 1, and just floor it it will automattically shift for you when it hits redline....atleast thats what my 88 supra turbo did.

Its not a mod as such, I have the JDM Maxima (Cefiro) it comes standard, when I go manual it will be coming out of the car.. I can't see why it won't just plug in .. although I heard something odd like the US autos have some cable system ?!

Power button seems to allow more torque buildup, just feels more gruntty when you gun it

well it ain't a Supra .. leave it in 1st and floor it and you will bounce off the rev limiter and eventually break something. you can of course wind out 1st gear then move shifter to 2nd, then D with O/D off

if u shift make sure u shift around 6000 rpm tho, cuz the time it takes for the shift to actually occur will put u at redline

make it shift hard. You really cant make it shift higher then it does besides leaving it in 1st. If you want to go higher thne get an ECU. They can move the rev limiter up high. Good luck

Your all thinking way too complex. It's rather simple actually. Just buy a ******* stick in the first place.

Just another stupid Response. You don't know your car very well, do you? It is called Nissan Maxima, not Toyota Supra... Why don't you try it before you make post like this? This way everyone knows what you are talking about.

my mommy's 95 quest has a power button too. I used that over the 4th when we went to Yosemite and had to get up and down the hills. I'm guessing you'd have to wire something into the ECU, or import a cefiro ECU, and then make a button to switch to power mode. (too much work for me)

There is no way to make an auto tranny shift at higher RPM's but manually shifting it using the 1 2 D with o/d OFF. Leaving it in 1 WILL NOT automatically shift to 2. Tho i dont see your problem, banged the auto tranny still shifts at damn close to redline. All these drop resistor mods and all that stuff do nothing as far as actually when the tranny shifts, it just how hard it shifts.
It's not so bad manually shifting your auto as it is downshifting it. All your doing is forcing it to stay in a gear u want, when u change from 1 to 2 it changes gears like it would if u were in drive. Practice manually shifting your auto at lower rpms so u know how it all works as there is a slight delay from when u shift, and when the tranny shifts. If you dont like that, well just floor it, will be close enuff to redline.
And i dont know what u meant by saying its no point to supercharge if its gonne shift at 3k rpms... Well no shiet its not gonne if its not banged.

no reason to shift at higher rpm's...autos were built for crusing, not racing. Not maximas anyway. If you want to race, get a 5spd.

Leave your foot on the gas, it shifts at 6000, which is fine, the maxima loses power after 5500 rpm's anyway.

The stock ECU does it's job pretty well when it comes to telling the tranny when to shift. Holding a higher rpm longer won't do shat for you unless you have a supporting mod that utilizes it, such as a mevi or a 00vi. The auto tranny shifts when it's supposed to, right when your power band starts to drop.

I reckon it would just be a matter of unplugging your transmission computer and plugging the Cefiro one (which would have matching harness for power switch)
