NGK cold plugs vs. NGK stock plugs

Does anyone know is there is any performance gain by installing NGK platinum cold plugs?

Installing one heat range colder plugs does not increase power, per se. These are usually installed with forced induction and/or nitrous oxide systems to help you avoid early detonation (pinging).

I need to change my spark plugs...Who knows the part number for the stock plug in the COLD version. By the way, I've liked the Splitfires I've had in my car for the last 40,000 miles. It seemed like they wore out kinda quick though. Good performance at first. Also, I live in a moderately hot and humid climate where it reaches an avg. 100 degrees on a summer day. does anyone (Daniel B--> U R the man) know if I should run the colder plugs or should I stick to the stock? What is the TrutH about the Bosch Platinum +4's too? I think I should've started a new thread.....thanks

I far as I read in this discussion group there is nothing better than stock NGK. Stuff like splitfire, rapidfire, hollowfire, champion and the like is nothing but a detriment for the engine. bosch is no good either. For Max VQ engine NGK is the (only) way to go.

Ill have a set of 6 unused stock NGK platinums for sale soon, as soon as my SC is verified good to go in.

Look for the post in about 2 weeks in FS section. (along with a few other htings)

Haynes and NGK lists the PFR5G-11 as the stock plug.
The cold version is the PFR6G-11. Got my set at Courtesy Nissan for about $9 a plug. The dealers in my area only set the regular version for $11-12. Had initially put in regular Bosch but my max had trouble starting up this past winter so swapped them out for NGK. No problems since.
