Constant whirring noise when key is in "ON" position

I have a auto tranny with a tranny cooler, either a BM tranny cooler or Hayden. Got it done at Maximum Tuning. Basically it's a constant whirring sound my boy said it might be a pump if it's constant, doesn't change tone, and it "whirs". Is it normal for a tranny with a tranny cooler to constant whir. I'm presuming it whirs while the car is running too but the engine noise probably drowns out the noise.

there is no pump that is on when u have the key to ON but car off, except the fuel pump, but its supposed to prime, then stop after like 2 seconds.

So then what can it be its a constant whirring sound sounds like its coming from the middle of the engine block somewhere. And it's only when the key is in the on position.

Check around the IACV/TPS area, i've heard some peoples IACV whine and tick and sound like a bomb sometimes.

Well I have a VQ35 with a VI so the IACV is hooked up. It seems to be coming (the sound) from around the area of the IM the side closest to the battery tray. What boggles my mind is that the sound is CONSTANTLY there. It goes away once I take out the key or put the key in the ACC position. The sound MIGHT be there with the engine running but I can't tell because of the engine noise. But the whirring noise is ALWAYS there with the car in the "ON" position.

The car is a '97 btw, with a '97 ECU. Only VQ35 block, heads, and '00VI. Stock 4th gen TPS sensors.

you're using teh vq35 VI right? Use a screwdriver and place it on various parts in the area and put ur eat on the screwdriver butt, ghetto but it works to help pinpoint where its coming out of....

Ok I think it's definately coming from the tranny. I put the screw driver on the tranny dipstick and I heard it. Can it be the cooler running thru the tranny? I mean the tranny shifts fine, OD OFF light isn't flashing, everything is fine upshifts, downshifts etc. It's a rebuilt semi-bulletproof tranny from Maximum Tuning. Any idea as to what it might be?

Also when I put the key in the on position the sound took 8-10 seconds to come on. WTF??????? I'm getting ticked off man. Maximum Tuning is really letting me down right now! First they mess up with the shift linkage, now this BS. I spent $2300 on a rebuilt tranny. This is not what I wanted!

I have no idea either, I put my long flathead on the dipstick and I heard the whir magnified. This is boogling my mind.
