Aftermarket gauge users.

I just got my phantom volt, temp and oil press. gauges in the mail, from Summit (in less than 24 hours). I am going to mount them under the stereo, like Aarons. I had a long talk with him the other night and he showed me an adapter made by www.stealthmodeperformance.com it screws in above the oil filter and has 3 exits, one for the stock dummy light, one for an aftermarket gauge and one for a turbo (that will be plugged.

Now, with the temp gauge are you all running it off the hose that goes into the TB? just wondering what the best spot is, it is a mechanical gauge.

Next is the volt gauge. What was the best place to hook that in? I am thinking cig lighter.

Thanks,

i have the autometer water temp gauge and volt gauge. i have 4 hot wires (2 ignition for gauge and 2 parking lights for illumination, 4 grounds (2 illumination, 2 gauge), and 1 wire for the temp sensor. all grounds are wired together and are grounded at the factory ground under the hood release trim. the two igniton wires come from a fuse tap off the cig lighter and the 2 illumination come off a fused line from the lighting behind the cig lighter-the easiest to access adn only hot during parking/headlights. i made a t and by passed the coolant at the throttle body. you can choose not to bypas it if you want cause some people think it may cause problems. mine is fine with no prblems such as sticking tb. use barbed fitting for the hose and screw it into a t. made sure the sensor gets good flow. ALSO MAKE SURE TO GROUND THE T if you have a electronic gauge. not doing this caused me to get low reading and took forever to solve. i have the oil press adaptor but its a PITA to get at the stock sensor so i just left it alone. if you have any more ques let me know cause i just spent the past month installing 2 sets of gauges (summit 3 gauge din panel, and autometer 2 gauge pillar) and troyuble shooting them with aaron92se.

coolant: was lazy and used the TB hoses for the sender.
volts: easy peasy... any power will suffice really.
oil pressure/temp: snag from the stock sender but those oil filter bricks work great (esp. for a cooler )

I snagged power and ground from the stock stereo wiring (used a spare stereo adapter, was all "quick release" for when I removed the stereo/etc.... very clean).
