Idle screw on throttle body

My question is how do I put it back to where it is suppsed to be set?

I know you are not supposed to mess with this screw, but I had to. My max kept dying when slowing down and at stops, so I had to turn it up to be able to drive. I tried turning up the black screw on the IAVC but it didnt help. I have since figured out I need a new TPS. I am going to put it in this weekend, but doesnt that screw have to be right in order to properly set the TPS?

you need a feeler gauge to set the TPS

What is the purpose of the gauge? To measure the distance or ???
I had to do the same thing. I am set at 650. However, still experiencing a slow idle. Hmmm. Maybe I need to clean the TB.

I know you need a feeler gauge. since I moved the screw it is not going to be in the same spot the factory put it. so it would not be accurate when I put the feeler gauge in. dont I need to get the screw back to the right spot first

your maxima has a throttle position sensor, it contains 2 important things.
1 wide open switch
2 closed switch

you will need a multimeter and a feeler gauge. .012 and .016
if you get a haynes manual it would be in the adjustments page.
if you check the accelerator cable, it will have symbols on it to match up when adjusting idle and tps. read in the haynes manual on how to adjust it.
