Universal o2 sensors as good as oem?

I am getting codes for both my front and rear o2 sensors.

I am wondering if i should buy oem or universal.

i have bought universal before but now imwondering if it wil hurt performance in anyway?

Cause its cake to splice some wires together and i would save about 100$, i just want my car to be at its full potential.

i think if you get a universal one, you have to cut some wires and attach it, and the oem one is plug and play.. thats what i've heard anyway..

go to autozone - mine was like 80 bucks there. the universal ones were only like 30 bucks cheaper. they should perform the same but i would stick w/ OEM.

You'll be fine with the universal - just make sure that the connection is good

I just put the universals on last week - it was a piece of cake. Best part is, I got them for only $19.99 each. I work for AutoZone, however this was no discount deal. It's either a blowout deal or a price error - but I got two sensors, some fuses and a air filter for $54 shipped from autozone.com. You can put in any zip code, however the price seems to be isolated to my area so select "95824" and a 1995 Nissan Maxima. It should not matter as the parts all ship from Memphis, TN anyhow. They still show as of today for $19.99:

BOSCH OXYGEN SENSOR for a 1995 NISSAN/DATSUN MAXIMA
Unit Price: $19.99
Core Value*: $0.00
Part No.: 15726
Weight: 0.00 lbs.
Warranty: 3 MO
Availability: Ships within 2 Business Days Online: Ships within 2 business days
Normally Stocked at Your Selected Store Store: Normally Stocked

Enjoy!

At my autozone Bosch front sensors are 80 bucks including tax, rear is 120 with tax.

Cheapo ACME crap is like 50 and 75 or something like that.

I just ordered 2 O2 sensors from autozone.com for 19.99 each. part # 15726. This is an amazing deal. The cheapest I found in the net for the same sensors was around 55.00 dollars.

Part #15726 is for the 2 front sensors. #15727 is for the rear one after the cat. #15727 is $59.99.

This is a great deal. I was about to replace all three at a cost of about $90 apiece.

If the sensors come up a different price just change the store from to buy them from. That's what did it for me or you could try changing the zipcode to 76248 and pick the store with the address rufe snow. They will come up for 19.99. Then ordered them.

Has anyone actually had their $19.99 Autozone O2 sensor orders fullfilled? i.e. any one received them yet and got the actual shipping invoice?

i've got 2 sensors, one in the rear, and one of the front ones. do you knwo wath the part numbers are, everytiem i go to o'reilleys auto store they always tell me i have a different number of sensors at different locations on my car than i have actually WITNESSED WITH MY EYES. so that throws me off completely and i never know what to buy.
also, where are the harnesses? i've seen wehre the plug go into the y pipe but have never seen the harnesses. i need to stop procrastinating with this whole thing and just get it done because my gas mileage is down the drain.

Actually you have 3 sensors, 2 in the y-pipe and one after the catalytic converter. One front O2 sensor connects right in front of the front valve cover near the manifold, the other front connector is on the passenger side near the plenum, where the main harness runs. Once you undo the old o2 sensor you'll be able to trace the harness.

Get yourself a Haynes or Chiltons. They are very useful for these simple repairs.

yeh i know i have 3 and i know where they are at. itsj ust that "o'reilleys computers" say other wise which makes me not wnat to buy the **** from them, but i dont always know exactl ywaht im looking for online either.
i'll check out my haynes manual, i didnt even think about that for 02 sensor repairs for some reason.
i'll probably still need to confirm some part numbers or whatever.
