I have a "95 Maxima and am thinking about using a K&N low-restriction drop-in air filter. Is it worth the extra cost and will it help my gas mileage and performance?

I read a while back somewhere that it will not make your acceleration as smooth. I dont know if you have any mods to your Max already though. The acceleration will be rougher but you might get a few hp gains, not much though. Not sure about perf. or gas mileage.

You won't feel any performance difference from a drop-in air filter, trust me.

I have a stock '99SE, and I put in a K&N. I did see a noticeable difference in low end torque. I didn't put the car on a dyno or anything, but felt a "seat of the pants" difference.

I'd save up the money for the stillen Hi-flow intake, it sounds great! plus gives you better gas economy....as far as horsepower its like 4 or 5...nothing you can feel but it makes you wanna slam your foot on the gas everytime =)
