OEM Air Filter/Fram Tough Guard Air Filter
OEM Air Filter/Fram Tough Guard Air Filter
So, the original filter for my max was an oiled paper media filter. I tried K&N for a while and have since gone back to paper media. Today, I tried the Fram Tough Guard. It is a paper panel filter but the media is oiled (just like the OEM Nissan filter). Anyone tried one of these?
(oh, and for those that can't read, this is an AIR FILTER)

the oem nissan filter is lightly oiled. i have seen a few people use the fram airhog, same positives as the k&n. how much longer does fram advertise that the toughguard will last compared to the regular one?

the K&N (and similar filters) use oil to trap the dirt. normal filters use paper to trap the dirt so they dont need oil

why go back to paper element filter? the k&n provides better air flow.

still confused on why you would switch to the fram from the k&n. maybe if you were going from stock to the fram it may have been a step up, but from the k&n to the fram seems like a step back.
