Finally got car back. Got Q's (Mevi)

So a 20k mile jdm engine was put in. The engine was an import from japan and had a mevi on it. While looking at the engine today i saw the 2 plugs that go to the thing that opens the valve up for the mevi had nothing to them. What am i going to need to get the MEVI to actually open up and get the gains from it. I know alot of people have a setup that includes a LED for when the mevi opens up so i want to include that too. Let me know whats available and where to get it. thanks

Maybe you should check here first: http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...3&postcount=40

Glad your car is back on the road. MEVI was not JDM - it is from the middle-east.

That is where we first started to get them from, but that doesn't mean they aren't JDM.

Middle East Variable Intake.

So-called because a guy in the middle east first started selling them to org members.

It is an intake manifold that has a second chamber that opens up at higher rpm, resulting in an increase in volumetric efficiency due to a dynamic supercharging effect. The chamber allows a shorter path for pressure waves to bounce back to the intake valves. At high rpm the shorter path results in better timing of the returned pressure wave with valve opening.

I still have to check what is actually on the engine. Maybe some of that stuff is already on there. But say it isnt how much do you think it will cost?

Without an ecu upgrade you will not see the full gains of the MEVI
