Hours of labor for an axle change + STS install?
Just wondering what I should expect to pay when going to my mechanic for replacing my driverside axle, and installing my Short throw shifter, assuming I give him all the parts. How many labor-hours should it take him?
Please don't tell me to do it myself - I have one week of vacation for thanksgiving and I need my car on the road so I can take it up to school with me. If I had more time, I would do it myself, but I need to get my car fixed and then protected from the harsh winter it will face in Rochester NY. The STS I've attempted to do twice, both unsuccessfully due to the corrosion and rust this car has seen.
Thanks in advance guys

Don't go to the shop quoting me, i.e. "well this guy on the internet said you would only charge 1.5 hours"
:
Those numbers are based on my experience. The STS is a pain - especially without removing the catalytic converter... it's a catch-22 - painful to remove the cat to make the STS job easier, or don't remove the cat, but then the STS job is painful!
