Rust prevention on matal parts in the engine

Can anybody suggest a way of preventing rust in the engine compartment in places such as fuel lilter and some metal linings?

Spray and wipe on some WD-40... You'd be amazed how well it works... Repels water great... Helps remove rust with a little bit of elbow grease... Thas why they call it WD (Water Displacement).
