Touch up paint - too dark

Well I fu&@ed up my rear bumper this weekend and tried to touch it up with the "matching" touch up paint. It doesn't match well at all. It's way too dark. The scratch in my bumper is about 4 inches long so anything that's slightly off will stand out. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can use to match Sunlit Sand? I was think of mixing it with a dab of one of the silver shades and then applying it or maybe another company makes a shade that matches better. Any ideas are appreciated.

your paint may have faded from the sun. try a body shop, and see if they will mix you a small batch to color match to your car.

Try www.paintscratch.com. The factory touch-up paint for my Glacier Pearl Maxima was to silvery. The stuff from paintscratch.com is pricey but it matches. Also stay away from the paint pens. They don't seem to work to well.

Thanks for the info. The site looks interesting but I'm hesitant right now because of their return policy. It looks like I'll get the same shade of paint that I have now and I'll be out of some serious bucks. Unless I hear of someone with the same color and problem using them, I'll use these guys as my last resort.

The paint has definitely faded, but being a light color I didn't think it would have faded that much. The touch up paint looks like a totally different color, much more gold than sand. I was going to use my Langka kit, but now I'm stuck until I can find something closer.

The scratch on the bumper is black plastic. I don't know what color the primer is on the car. Could the black background be affecting the shade of the paint. If you put a light colored primer over the black and then used the touch-up paint then would that lighten the final color? If not then send me the touch-up paint. It will work just fine on my bumpers.

I already have the Nissan touch up paint and it's too dark. That's the moral of the story. I found some Duplicolor at AutoZone yesterday that's a shade lighter and it seems to match pretty well. I tried using it with my Langka kit and that didn't work at all. The blob remover stuff didn't do what the directions said it would. It seems it will be trial and error at this point.

NOTE: I am not flaming you choptix. I would like everyone to see the difference between Gold and Beige(Sunlit Sand) even if it is pointless.

I've used them before too. It wasn't cheap, but it turned out awesome.
