Finally got a chance to to Timing Advance to my max

Well I finally got the chance to do the timing advance on my max to 17d before tdc and the best part of it it was free. The only thing I did notice or maybe it was my mind but my car did seem to pull harder in 1st and second gear but it might be just me. The only part that I am dissapointed with was when I hooked the consult, it gave me 3 codes so now I have to get them fixed.

Change your knock sensor harness, should solve the problem. I had that happen to me too. Changed KS, nothing. Then changed the KS harness and it pulls like it's supposed to now. There really is a big difference.

Yeah I was thinking that POS harness may be the culprit!

I know you can check the actually KS with a multi meter, but can you do this with the harness itself? if so what are the specs?

Checking the KS by resistance means sweet F@ck all. Pulling codes and logging timing data tells you for sure.

THE KS harness can be verified by checking for continuity unless your wire is loose sometimes; I believe that to be my case.

How much is the KS harness and what's the part number? I changed my knock sensor and noticed no difference myself, although I didn't actually know that the old KS was bad, so who knows. The old KS was five years old and I just felt that the car was slow. Thanks.

You need to pull the codes and log the timing like I mentioned to know for sure. KS harness - call your Nissan dealer they are like $15 or so ballpark

The Consult cannot permanently advance timing on a 4th gen. I've verified this on a couple of occasions.
