Monted an XM MyFi and Ipod in the Max

The "purists" might think its a bit of a hack, but it works for me. The ipod is running thru the casette player (since I will NEVER use it for anything other than that) and the MyFi is running thru the FM transmiiter. Both actually sound really good (very surprisingly) and I am having a friend hard wire both power cords so I won't have to run them off the lighter.

Very nice, but how come you didn't have the XM installed in directly into the head unit?

I like where you mounted the Pod, one question though how hard is it to read it and select songs while driving? I've been wanting to get one specifically for the car but it only if I can do those things.

I was wondering about the same thing. XM does allow you to just add another receiver on your account, right? Regardless, it looks as if you did a nice install and the MyFi does allow you to just take it out and go.

I decided to mount the MyFi for 2 reasons- I got the MyFi CHEAP....$125. I have a friend who got it as a prize and he didn't want it, so I got it from him. I also like being able to take it out and use it at the gym, etc. At some point I might shell out the bucks for the Nissan module, but for now it will work fine.

As far as seeing the Ipod, its not too bad during daylight, I am tall and sit with the seat all the way back so I can usually see it when I want to. I tend to just run it on the shuffle and hit the forward button if I don't want to hear the tune that is on, and its easy enough to just pop off and search for a song or whatever when I am stopped at a light.

That is a great price. The problem here in Brooklyn is that I would have to take this out everytime I parked or it would not be there when I got back.

How did you mount the ipod? Is there sticky tape or velcro under there?

the Ipod is mounted in its original clip via sticky tape, and it doesn't move.

Nice set up bro-besides the wires it almost looks factory.I was wondering how you got the ipod there-but you answered it.So I guess the ipod holder is there for life. Life's a compromise...
