I saw one yesterday on my way home. Basically, it looked like a SE without the wing but the mudguards were the 2-toned with the car color and the outer edge was black. What gives?

 

the ES was offerend in Canada. are you from around there?

 

Nah, I saw it in Boston. I was jealous.

 

This is the explanation of an ES owner that I saw in another thread:

"It was a special edition model that was only sold in Canada in '99. It is exactly like an SE model except for side airbags, leather, bose audio, spoiler, and sunroof. I guess it's almost identical to a base SE model in the states except for the spoiler"

 

that's rite~!! The ES a special edition offered in Canada in the yr 1999. i currently have the ES model. it also got white gauges, heated seats, homelink system, foglites, 16" wheels (same as SE), leather wrapped steering wheel. it was a good deal comparing to GXE 'coz it got pretty much options from SE. the only one more option i want more from SE is the spoiler. i dun really care abt sunroof (of course it's better if there's one), 'coz the structure of a car without a sunroof is a little bit better than a car with one.

 

The mudguards were phat!!!
