Depends

What kind of mods do both of you have?

If he's stock, you should stomp his a$$ without breaking a sweat.

you will stomp him

regardless of the model and transmission, you will stomp any 98 civic unless you fall asleep at the wheel.

Unless it's one of the new Civic SI. Other then that, stock wise, you should take it out easily.

Toy with him.

Make the first race close..give him a couple of lengths, then blow him out when you're both up to speed. Then to really frustrate him smoke him again and again with no mercy and no head starts. You'll make a grown man cry.

It cant be

It cant be a civic SI, they didnt have them in 98. started them with 99 model year. the max will win unless he has a heart attack on the starting line.

I dont know guys according to the most recent butt dyno in my friends 99 civic ex 5spd he is making at least 95hp at the wheels if not a little more. That could rocket the ex civic to at least 2.4sec 0-20mph.

You should eat the Civic for lunch.

But then stock Civics are not for racing. They are for getting 35MPG. Two of my roommates have Civics and they get 35+ MPG (makes me jealous, as I can barely get 20 on el cheapo Arco regular. I bet they can get 35MPG putting water in the gas tank.

I heard that if you put rice in the gas tank in those hondas its like putting nitrous on any other car. You can get at least 50+ hp then throw on a exhuast, intake, and various other honda mods and bam you got yourself a maxima beater.

I heard a few mentions of a Civic Si. Are they any faster than a regular civic? I couldn't imagine that they would come close to a Maxima.

Ok take a regular civic. Paint it blue, put a couple of badges on it that say si. These badges must be red. Change the tach so it has a higher redline. Put some 15's on it that have a honda logo. Mess with the stock 1.6l engine to get 170hp then put a bigger wing on the back and bam you got yourself and si. And I swear if one more of these blue si's trys and race me I will throw up. Its like they know their slow I mean they try to race anyone in anything. 0-60 7.2 at best 8.0 with all these freaks that cant drive them.
