300z caliper/cobra bbk brackets on sale again!

Edited March 2008'
Sorry for the long delay fellas. I originally supplied this kit with the brackets and centering rings for the rotor. The rings centered the rotor if you didn't have the Cobra rotor redrilled to the Nissan stud size. I couldn't find a place to make the rings anymore so I'm deleting them from the kit.

Good news = makes the kit price cheaper. Brackets are $60 shipped via usps priority (48 states and sometimes canada)

Bad News = You have to use Cobra rotors that are redrilled. FORTUNATELY Automax offers the rotors redrilled. (also slotted, Xdrilled or dimpled). He also sells the SS lines and pads.
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=281773

If you need some great instructions on how to install these parts, look here.
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=351406
The post is for the Q45/J30 calipers but the instructions are the same. Take note to the hardware specifications (nuts/bolts). I would also add that you need to make sure the nuts/bolts are the same strength grade or better than the oem units you have now.

For those of you that have 2000+ year maximas, you can still use these brackets. BUT you have to enlarge one set of bracket holes to the next size to fit your larger oem brake bolts.

Brackets are $60 / set. Price includes shipping and paypal fees. Paypal is "Jeff_Iwata@yahoo.com". Tell me who you are, what you are buying and where to send it.

I got 20 sets done and I'm informing all PM people 1st. But I'm going to put this exact same message in the for sale sections also. I got more than 20 PMs regarding these so these might sell out again.

I hope I answered all your questions.

Jeff92se

You will need to buy the rotors/calipers/mounting hardware and ss conversion lines. But in total, you should be able to do this conversion for about $500. Not bad

If you don't already know, the brackets/rings allow you to use the 300zx 4 piston front caliper and the Ford Cobra 13" rotor. The improvement in braking power is greatly increased. Fade is a non-issue now.

You need one more set of bolts/nuts/washers to mount the bracket to your torque arm. In the same grade or higher than the existing ones.

I believe you can. You have to enlarge one set of holes in each bracket. But that's about it. "Jeff_Iwata@yahoo.com" is my paypal.

Yes, I've had no one say their abs no longer functioned. Actually I've had people comment about their ABS activation after the installation of these parts. There's nothing really affecting the abs sensors or the ability of the sensors to read the teeth on the axle.

Lines = Blemco or similar
Hardware = Interesting enough NOT a hardware store. Best to get these in metric from a Fastener place. Tacoma Scew or similar. A place that specializes in nuts/bolts etc... Make sure to get the same grade or higher as the existing stuff. No Home Depot stuff

I have OEM 17" GLE rims. Anyone know if 8mm spacers be sufficient to get those 13" rotors in?

It's not the rotors but the huge 4 piston calipers that stick out that give you problems. I highly doubt 8mm spacer with the oem maxima 17s will work.

Do you think I could squeeze 'em in with larger spacers, or just not a possibility with factory 17's?

The size of spacer required to make these clear would also make the setup unsafe IMHO. You would need at least the Nismo studs which are longer. So after doing all these odd mods, it would be better just to find a set of G/Z factory 17" or 18". They fit perfect, clear the bbk and no spacer is required.

$45 shipped.

But how do you have just the brackets and no rings?

Here a lil bit of info for you guys since I came accross a thread on hear that was talking about using 300ZX TT calipers for the Cobra rotor upgrade......well I could be wrong but I looked up the specs of the cobra rotor and it stated it was only 26mm thick, thats a problem if you guys are using 90 Z32 TT - 91-96 Z32 TT/NA calipers becasue there made to be used with 30mm thick rotors and the only year Z32 and application for 26mm rotors is the 90 Z32 NA version and they are aluminum calipers which are used with 26mm rotors.

I could be wrong on the thickness becasue im not exactly sure what year rotors u guys are using just trying to look out for you anyways I seen this info here (i couldn;t find anyhting talking about Cobra rotor thickness just diameter..except this)

Although I've never tried it, I don't think it would fit well. The 30mm calipers have more offset room and is thicker to accomodate the Cobra rotor width.
