04 maxima rotor = g35 rotors ?

i was wondering if the new 04-0? maxima's have the same rotors as the brembo g35's...Im wonder because i got a 5th gen w/ the old 300 brembo and they require the 04-up maxima rotors which are 12.6 inchs and i measured my friend brembo rotors and they were the same size.....is it me or am i right?

Even if they're the same size, the Maxima doesn't even come with the option of the upgraded brakes that the G35 comes with. You could get a BBK and put it on yourself afterwards, but it won't be Brembo since they don't make rotors for the 6th gen Maxima.

ya i know they dont make the brembo's for the 6th gen but the only reason i havnt put my brembos in is because i havnt bought the rotors cuz no money....so i was wondering if they were the same size rotor so i could use his stock rotors for now so i can get the bbk in and burn the crappy 5th gen brakes

the simple fact that the G and Z are RWD and the Max is FWD should tell you they can't have the same rotors.

I not sure if understanding your intent. It's to eventually put the factory G optioned brembo calipers and rotors on? If that is the case, I do believe there will be a slight dimensional difference. Very minor but significant. As noted above in the rotor dia difference. Traditionally, the FWD nissans and RWD nissans had slightly different torque arm dimension differences that prevented a straight bolt up rotor/caliper conversion. As noted with the previous requirement to shave the 300zx rotor down about 3mm.

I think you could make the rotor/caliper thing work. But the question is why? I suppose if you get them at some incredible price. Otherwise I'm sticking with my 4 piston oem Nissan 4 piston calipers and the 13" cobra rotors

I'm trying to figure out where to move your thread to: wheels/tires... or general max... or other cars....

not sure you can get any more info than what's provided. it's up to you to be the first to consider and try this.

it may help if you elaborate on your intent like asked. so it's just b/c you have some? or you want increased braking? sorry I can't help more. but maybe gen max forum may bring you more help.

The rotors will only have slightly different dimensions, but it's the caliper that is quite different.
So Tek-Niq answered your ? already.

Maxima
Vented disc
12.60 x 1.10
Solid disc
11.50 x 0.35

Brembo Z/G
All 4 vented
12.76 x 1.18
12.68 x 0.87

Not sure on the RWD vs FWD compatability.

I had a hard time understanding what you wanted. I have no idea what "300 brembo" is.

I just ordered front rotors online and pads for my 2004 Maxima SE, I wasn't given any option for sizes, is it safe to assume there is only one size. This'll be the second time in two years I've replace them due to steering wheel shake......I've even been conscious of taking it easy on braking since I replace them last time. From reading the posts sounds like OEM rotors are crap. This time i'm getting slotted and drilled maybe they'll stay cooler & last 3 years. Still concerned if there is only one size. I'm using original 18" wheels, the rotor dia. measures 12.5-13".....measuring with the wheel on so difficult to check exactly.

Got a solution, my SE will require 12.6" rotors. Maxima also uses 11.475" rotors, guessing they are for 17" wheels.
