Sluggish Performance With Full Tank Of Gas?

Everytime I fill up the tank my performance goes down the drain. I use 91 octane Shell V Power. The car is less responsive and there are close to no G's felt when I floor it. Then when it gets down to 1/2 a tank throttle response is great and the G's come back and the car feels like a beast. You guys have this problem too? I'm guessing it might be the fuel injectors and if it is should I clean them or just get them replaced?

when you get close to a 1/4 tank get some chevron techron fuel injector cleaner and run that stuff through. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter also.

Fuel pump I havent gotten that tested as for the fuel filter I got that replaced like 3 weeks ago. Yeah I have to wait 2 weeks unless I drive like a maniac for gas to get close to E to add injector cleaner. God I hate it I dread filling up I hate losing my performance just because my car needs gas. Its not just on a full tank, performance sucks with any amout I put into the car and performance sucks for a while until its almost empty. My dad just got his 99 SE fixed I want to drive his and see if there is a difference also.

Weight does make a difference, but not THAT much... IIRC, gasoline weighs just over 6 lbs/gallon, which means 100-120 lbs per full tank. That equates to maybe 0.1 sec over a quarter mile. It sounds like the problems here are more significant.

I don't know what the cause would be, but I'm pretty sure some fuel injector cleaner wouldn't hurt.

If you drive like a "maniac" and can still get a tank of gas to last you 2 weeks then you must drive a "hybrid maxima." I'm lucky if a tank lasts me a week!

Yep I gun it atleast 2-4 times a day and at two weeks I get the gas light to comes on and I refill. Its probably because I don't drive too much my range is 315-320 doing nothing but city driving I don't have to take freeways. But damn I'll have to put some injector cleaner when it comes close to E. Its a weird problem though the car barley has any G's when taking off until the tank gets to 1/2 then the G's and agressiveness returns.

Yeah I do way more driving than you. Mostly freeway for me doing anywhere between 80 and 120 depending on how late I am for work, haha. And it takes me a good 30-40 minutes to get to work depending on traffic too (takes me 20 minutes just to get to the highway). Are you sure the shell v-power in your area is only 91 octane? The V-power at the shell stations around here are all 93 octane. You may want to try some 93 if you have it in your area because any fuel lower than 93 octane has always made my max feel and drive like @ss

Yep here in Cali I've never seen any gas station with an octane rating over 91. Would probably be expensive as hell if there was one over here also.
