headlights mismatch
headlights mismatch
I had an front end accident 2 weeks back. I got everything repaired, my insurance paid for it. During the crash, the right fender was pretty much dented, and the right headlight was broken. The insurance paid for all the repairs, but they only put a new headlight on the right and not on the left. So there is a clear mismatch among the two. Is it possible to clear the old headlight?
you must have a 95-6 Max, and they put a headlight on from a 97-99 or some aftermarket replacement. Bummer. Take it back and show that they ordered the wrong year. Or say that they should only use OEM Nissan parts. (can you require that?)
they must have put a new harness for the headlight that got wrecked...over time the harnesses for the bulbs wear out and the light output appears to be not as bright...the only thing really is upgrade your headlights or just buy another new harness for the side that wasnt wrecked, then they should look the same as far as light output
so you're saying the left headlight, the old one, is cloudy compared to the new one in the right? Try cleaning/wet sanding the left one. Check if the new one is actually OEM. It should say NISSAN or something on it somewhere. If it's not, see if you can take it back and demand that they use OEM parts. I would think they would be required to as insurance usually will pay to put the car back to before-accident state. And if you had OEM headlights in there, that's what they should put back in.
EDIT: You're not being very clear on what your problem/situation is. It makes it hard to help you or answer your questions.

Common sense seems to be missing in this thread.
Obviously a new headlight will be cleaner and brighter then the older headlight. Your insurance company and the body shop isn't going to replace something that isn't damaged. If you want them to match nicely, purchase a new one for the other side.
You can compound and polish the old lense, but the new light is still going to look better.

I'm in the market for a used passenger side headlight IF
that is the one you might need to replace.
