you dont remove a hose. you remove the plastic drain plug from the bottom of the radiator. if you also want to remove all the coolant still in the engine block- replace drain plug
fill radiator with water
start engine and run to operating temp (to open thermostat)
leave engine running
remove drain plug
let car run till nothing else comes out
turn off car right away

Another alternative to removing all the old coolant out is to remove the drain plug from the block!

that wont get it all. that plug isnt actually on the block. its on the right side of the engine (looking from front) where one of the hoses connects. its towards the top so everything wont run out

If you want to get technicial we can : The following instructions are provided in the Maintance section of the NISSAN Service Manual on pages MA-14 & MA-15. In particular "YOU" can read #4.
1. Set air conditioning system as follows to prevent coolant from remaing in the system.
a. Turn ignition switch ON and set temperature controlloer to maximum hot position.
b. Wait 10 seconds before turning ignition switch OFF.
2. Open radiator drain plug at the bottom of radiator, and remove radiator filler cap.
3. Remove reservoir tank, drain coolant, then clean reservoir tank.
4. Remove drain plugs on both sides of cylinder block and air relief plug.
5. Check drained coolant for contaminants such as rust, corrsion or discoloration. If contaminated flush engine cooling system, refer to "FLUSHING COOLING SYSTEM", MA-16

look at the newbie who is smart just because he can read a service manual. now can you actually go out to your car and find them?
i have a service manual too but never thought it was necessary to use it when flushing my coolant. i was smart enough to figure it out myself
you do it that way...i'll do it my way that is easier (which is why most people use this method)

oh, i know your method is the most commonly used method of which i also use and others in my nissan dealership use, but you mentioned that draining the block wouldn't completely drain your coolant which is "wrong." i may be a new member to this forum, but than again i think i have more experience working on all nissan's than you. have a nice day!

Wont this cause air pockets when you fill up the system again?

i won't say i'm right in this, but most of the times i've read these "write-ups" it's mentioned to check the level of the reservoir tank every couple of days. i would guess that it's low because as it moves around the system, the airpockets escape and the radiator grabs from the reservoir tank to compensate, you see a low res. tank and add some more. this goes ont for 2-3 days until it stays on "max"
