Door panels

I am going to be replacing my stock window/lock panels that sit in door handles (change to wood)...do the door panels have to be pulled or will the plates just "pull up/push down" with access to the electrical plugs without damaging the panel??? Thank You!!

They switch panels just pop out, you dont have to remove the whole door panel from the door.

True, but it's alot easier to push it out from the bottom, than try to pry them up from the top. The door scratches easy too. It's only 3 screws, I'd pull the panel, but thats just me.
