My suspension squeaks....!
My suspension squeaks....!
Hey guys, i had already posted about installing my gc's w/ tokico blues and i found that i forgot a plastic bearing plate that i left out in the front. That fixed the front problem binding but the back is still making tons of squeaks and noise. It sounds like the aluminum top hat is hitting the spring every time the shock de-compresses. there is a metal retainer looking thing on the shock piston, should that be removed so the aluminum top hat would ride along with the spring? b/c the top hat only goes down so far. Help... please. I called Ground Control and they said that it was suppose to make noise. I don't think so, especially the amount of that my car is. I am pretty sure that the suspension is assembled right but i'm not positive, the directions suck. Pics would be helpful. Thanks
i feel ur pain....as we apeak im waiting for nissan to ship in my suspension parts!
my susp includes tein stechs with kyb agax.
after installing it...my susp. sqeaked like hell mostly on the driver side and once in a while on the passenger side. i took apart my driver side...changed the bearing...changed the orange noise insulator....changed the boot and the strut mount. now the driver side is perfect. IMO...it turns smoother...
now im going to do the passenger side on sunday. take apart ur suspension. look at ur strut bearing. wen i did...my bearing was in pieces....literally it was in 3 pieces! inspect ur mounts and metal plates and shyt...make sure theyre not worn down and not making any metal to metal contact.
