Alright my intake has just about had it now so i need a new one and im not goin back 2 stock. So if anyone could suggest the best aftermarket one and where i could find pics and where i could get it that would be awesome i checked around the stickies but really couldn't find anything helpfull

 

Stock is best for overall driving.

POP would be best for racing (1/4 mile), or at least in some way/shape/form keep the stock resonator between MAF & TB ..

Key is to maintain the stock resonator, as others have diverse effects on the torque curve, resulting in less power under the curve.

basically don't go with a cold air intake (cai) the one that gets air from inside the fender... although it may get colder air it has adverse effects on power. the pop charger is the best bet look on ebay its just a converter peice also check here

 

unless . . . .

 

CAI with stock reonater should be just as good as pop charger, but winters coming and you dont want a cai in the rain....just get an adapter and throw a big filter on stock piping.

Then get a POP (Stillen/JWT) Will you be racing a lot? Do you have a VIM? If not, then stock would be best for you since you wont be seeing 5.5k+rpms very often.

This is why some have suggested to go stock.

 

I street race thats about it for now but some day id like 2 take it up 2 the track

And you seriously think you're a street racer with just one real power mod? Christ, my car is modded out the whazoo and I don't think of it as a racer.

I didnt say i was a street racer i said i street race thats 2 different things. I race for fun not money. I've raced for 5 years since when i had my camaro.

 

If i wanted someone to tell me stock then in my post i wouldnt of said i dont want stock so why waste the post 2 tell me stock and as for the f&F quotes its a joke me and my friend have you guys wouldn't get it cause all your worried about is flaming

The answer to the question you asked can be found in the stickys. Intakes are a matter of personal opinion.. I think I gave you a very good explanation of what exaclty is the best... Then again that's my opinion.

We resent people who worship stupid movies like that because it gives the notion that every Maxima owner who adds a modification is a ricer ... The people who belong here, aren't.

Ask a more intersting technical question that has yet to be answered .. then maybe the flames will not fly.

 

well someone gave me a link and i thank them for that and i dont think im a ricer cause i have a mod or 2. I love racing movies and i like fast and the furious is there somethin wrong with that. I dont go flaming other peoples sigs or stuff like that even if i think its stupid cause its not my business so if the people that flame all the time worried bout them selves more then everybody else then this forum would be better, but NO it cant be like that!

What dimensions are you evaluating it on? Power? Sound? Quality? Ability to distract from lack of mods in the engine bay?
