Installed Tokico blues, car sits higher WTF!

Gents,
'96 GLE: Supplied the dealer with a full set of Tok blues and had a 4-wheel alignment last week. The car seems to sit higher. Didn't think struts would alter height. Is this an illusion or do the springs need to settle? Thanks...

Sometimes when I jack my car up it sits higher for a little while. But then again seeing all these slammed maxs with no wheel gap on here can make anything look like a 4x4. Also blown struts will make the car sit lower because it is no longer supporting as much vehicle weight.

the springs most likely need to settle.

If your didnt change the springs, the car isnt going to sit any lower...its probably sitting the same height it did with the stock stuff on because it seems like all you changed were the struts

Nope, everything is stock except the struts. I thought the struts just did the dampening. The original struts were leaking oil. Car is definately sitting higher.

That's normal then. Blown struts sag, ever seen a max with blown rears, definitely sag. Fronts do the same too. Once they are replaced it's back to 4 wheeling.

^^ If your old struts were blown, then you'll definitely notice the car sitting higher with the new ones.

Also, the Tokico Blues will be a little firmer than OEM to be able to cope at least somewhat with aftermarket springs, so they're probably supporting the springs a little more than the OEM ones did.

GLE springs are SUPER-soft... you'll notice differences among struts a lot more because of that.

Replacing blown shocks will most definately restore ride height to factory spec if the factory shocks were blown for a long period of time and had time to sag.
