3.5 engine sound pretty good

sorry i just got too excited right now well i let my dad borrow my car today and when he drove by it sounded pretty nice...sounds like those g35 sedans. always seem so quiet inside the car but outside it sounds very nice. i'm so glad i didn't spend $100 bucks buying a g35sedan muffler and swapping it onto my max haha btw does the 3.0 give off this sound as well?

i'm sorry if this thread is retarded

yes with the right setup...a 3.0 can sound similiar to a g35....but i believe its easier to get a 3.5 to sound like a g35....can anybody jump in and clarify?

Yah the 3.5 sounds like a g35 in a way. Definately don't sound like a 3.0

Throw in a Berk/Frankencar intake then you can enjoy the 3.5 growl.

Read his screan name: go with a GAB (free-bee mod). Besides, you can easily switch that back to stock in no time.

I heard an 05 G35 sedan at start-up and at WOT (me inside and outside of it) - somehow my 5.5 doesn't sound nearly the same. The G caught me by surprise to say the least.

The maxima and g series cars both have the exact same engine. Only difference on the G's are the intake assemblies and the twin exhaust (also of which is a bigger diameter than on the maxima) and the G's are mounted different plus they are RWD.

If you want more of an engine sound, open up the intake piping and the exhaust piping.

Headers and a catback exhaust is said to sound more like a G35C.

IMO, Cubanato's HS headers plus FC cat-back sounds closest to the G35.

Btw, I can't believe this whole thread is about exhaust sound... I really hope y'all aren't blowing tons of money to make your car SOUND cool... I mean I'm all for nice sounding exhaust set-ups, that should be a by-product of a set-up that gives good hp gains as well. But this is just my opinion.

nah i wasn't kidding about it lol i already ordered it from a junk yard and put $50 bucks down payment till they get the muffler in...but then it took them a while so i got tint instead and they were nice enough to give me my money back

i kno i kno i like useless mods lol on my accord i put those acura cl type s mufflers on my car and it sounds nicer so i thought that would work with the g35sedan mufflers too =/ but i was comparing the mufflers and the g35 sedan muffler is a lot smaller than the maxima ones...maybe that's what gives it more sound?
