Changed my tranny fluid today (5spd)

I followed this write up. http://maxima.cardomain.com/ride/200625/7

But when I was trying to remove the sensor to drain the fluid, I broke off the plastic piece where the bolt goes.
I was so pissed, but I superglued it back on and it seemed to be holding, so when the fluid finished draining, I put the sensor back in and bolted it back on. I hope it stays together.

Also, the 2 write ups I saw said that the tranny holds 4.5 qts of fluid, so I bought 5 qts of Mobil 1 75W90. ($8.29/qt at Autozone) The write up says to put enough fluid in until it starts dripping out of the fill hole. I spilled some, but in the end I put in about 4.75qts and it was still not dripping out. I figured this was enough and I didn't want to spend any more money to buy another quart. I should be safe right? BTW, my shifts feel noticeably smoother.

Has anyone else put closer to 5 qts in when then changed theirs?

I almost guarantee you put in the wrong fluid. The Mobil 1 Autozone sells is GL-5, not GL-4. You should follow the spec and put in the right fluid.

Isn't the Redline MT-90 a GL-4 fluid?

Try this write-up, http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/mtoil.html. In this write-up you drain the tranny fluid in a different spot.

Oh crap. Are you serious? Should I drain out the fluid tomorrow and put in some GL-4?

EDIT: Well I should've read the whole thread on this in the Fluids section. I just finished draining out the $40+ of Mobil 1 fluid out and I'll go look for some GL4 tomorrow.

EDIT: I found that Summit Racing has the MT90, so I drove an hour over there and picked up 5 qts @ $7.95 each. It's done.
