Poll: How many have broken your realese bearing?
I was just wondering since I had to pull my tranny over the weekend. I have a six puck act unsprung with fidanza combo. I was driving to my second job of delivering papers to meet with my fiance when I downshifted to second and the clutch never came up. I thought it was the slave cylinder until I finally got it parked and started looking under the hood. Anyways I saw the realese bearing today and it was shot and one of the ears broke right off. It was my cheap a** mistake. Now I kick my own a**. The slave was leaking and I prolonged the situation since I have been so busy and it probably prematurely ***** my bearing out. Thats my only guess so far! The bearing was from act and it was a japanese SKF.
I just have the stock clutch (as far as I know) but the same thing happened to me (the pedal not coming back out). Pedal came back after I let it sit overnight but everyone says it's my TOB so... next weekend I hope to have my clutch replaced. I will see what the condition of my stuff is. I got the 5th gen clutch to replace it. I dunno if my current clutch disk is worn out or if the pressure plate is weak but I just now started slipping in 5th gear as well...should all be replaced in a week or so.
So the 5th gen clutch goes in with no problems? I know I am using a 5th gen flywheel even though they say it all the same so I guess the clutch should be too. Is their any advantages? Same motor with a stupid intake manifold I want badly when I have time and money. The stupid thing is I never even thought about it that way, it makes sence.
