Still no proper headlight housings for HID's?

Simple question, other then self mod headlamps are there any housings out there designed for HID's for a 96 Max yet? I love HID's the performance and look of them but would rather try and stay legit if I could.

You can put HIDs with the shield in the OEM Cefiro housing which uses H4 bulbs, it will control the glare much better than the crappy 9004 housing.

the h4 cefiro housing + HID spread the light out a lot better than stock but i wasnt satisfied with the amount of output onto the road. i stayed with the setup anyways.. youre only best bet right now is to do the projector retrofit + HID if you want a strong focus of light. i dont believe there are any aftermarket HID housings for the maxima that are a direct bolt-in.

The lighting aftermarket is a hater of 4th gen maxs. The performance of a just a plug and play kit IMO is better than stock but not worth the money when you can spend almost the same amount and get twice as much lighting. For a 95-96 I would say try to go with 97-99 housings because the fluted lens on 95-96 robs light, and then probably a 9007 conversion, then just save up for a proper retrofit.

There is such thing as a reflector retrofit, as the name implies you cut out the stock reflector and retrofit one from a car that runs a d2r set up like an IS300, 5th gen max, etc . I've never seen it done on a 4th gen though. It would be cheaper than projecters, legal, and definitely put out more light than stock.

The reflector retrofit is something that's been bouncing in my head for a bit but but it seemed far fetched. I mean, and correct me if I'm wrong here but, with our cars, if you're looking at the back of the headlamp, the housing , isn't this part the actual reflector on the inside? Which means that aren't they one and the same such, that if you wanted to do this you'd really be replacing the entire maxima housing with another from a different car?

I had looked initially at the A6 housing (too big) and the TL housing (weird shape).

theBlue (an OG member) retrofitted A4 headlights to his 97, housings and HIDs.
