A/C Vent?

A/C Vent?

hey guys. i am painting my dash pieces this week. but i wanna do the A/C Vents on the passenger and driver sides. but i dont know how to go about removing them. i tried but it looks like i cracked them. if anybody could help me on how to remove them.

You need to take off the whole dash in order to paint it, there is a screw on the reverse side that lets you take the air vent off.

i remember someone taking it out without taking the whole dash out

you still have to remove the bottom of the entire dash to get a screwdriver in there adn goo luck if it is tight cause you will probably strip the screww before loosening. real tight angle

Nope, I took off absolutely nothing to remove the trim to those vents. You don't need to remove the vents to remove the trim around them. They're a b*tch, but they DO pop out

where do u start pulling it out from. bottum? sides? top?

if is just the trim then no you can pull the trim out without taking out the dash but if you want the ac vents out then removing the dash is best.

yea thats all i wanna do is take the trim piece out. but where should i start at by taking it off. mine is already cracked because i tried taking it off.

It's really hard to explain online but I started at the bottom 2 corners with a flathead screwdriver, though a butter knife may work even better. You have to pry and push up at the same time, slowly sliding your way under the trim piece as you work your way up to the top two corners. The piece will eventually pop off rather forcefully and it may even hit you in the face or something. That's the best I can really explain it, hope that helps a little
