Don't waste your money on them. For the cost of the Silverstars, buy an upgraded harness and Nokya Arctic Whites from SCO. Bulbs themselves are half the price, last longer and are much brighter. I ran the SS bulbs for awhile and returned them when I realized how much they blew.

 

hyper yellow foglights=winner. I have a headlight/foglight setup similiar to the lexus is300 and it looks great, I just need to spend more time reaiming the foglights

Yup, Silverstars aren't that great, they burn out quick and they don't provide as much light as stock.

 

Ok well what is a great alternative to SilverStars? Something that is proven by more than one person to be great overall...

meh ive got SS's and they look very nice. brights are kinda weird to get used to, but teh lighting is FAR improved than my old stock bulbs. given they were ~4 years old, but still....and ive had these for 6 months. im expexting 6 more then im going 5000k HID. halogen suxxorz

 

Luminics bulbs are reliable and they offer a warranty. It seems the output is reduced with the ultra violet 9004 bulbs I have but their jdm yellow foglight bulbs provide good lighting that I was impressed with. All and all tinted bulbs are not the way to go for performance, stock ones are if your staying halogen or go with some hids.

 

I understand the buying the bulbs part...but what about the Upgraded Harness? That's the part that I am not totally sure about...I went on SCO and I didn't find any upgraded harness, but then again I dont know exactly where or what to look for...Any help? I'd like to take ur advice and get that setup ASAP. Thanks

 

When you buy bulbs you have a option of running them at a higher wattage for example stock bulbs are 55w but the nokyas you can buy, may run at 110w or something. More watts mean more light but you risk of blowing the stock harness which is made to handle 55w only. You may need to get a upgraded harness to handle all that power from the 110w bulb without blowing.

 

Not blowing the harnes...melting it. While you're at it, you should convert to 9007 bulbs for the better beam pattern. Check the stickys for how to...it's a ten minute job.

BTW, would 110watts possibily be TOO bright? I just wont want to get pulled over cuz the cops think I got my brights on - they get pissed about that up here.

 

and make sure you do the WHOLE harness. some "kits" are like 4 inches of wire.. all that happens is the wires melt after the 4 inches, very not good

if only seen couple bulbs that go up that high to 115w, there are alot that go to 80w or 90w but you should be fine with the cops

Yes, you CAN buy the harnesses. The Arctic Whites are 100/110w...very bright but nothing so bad you'll get pulled over.

 

Please don't put 100/110W in your harness, is there such a bulb with that much wattage, last time I looked it was 65/55 or 55/45 it may produce the look of 100/110W, but look to melt your harnesses.
I always used KOBO or something similar and it use to melt the harnesses so I took the harnesses out and just plugged each wire to the bulb and then no more melting harnesses, easy fix....

That bulls.hit... they too put out more light than stock... upgrade to 9007 and dont listen to these people... get the bulbs from walmart and if it burns out just go get another one and return it... ill post pics soon...

 

Sylvania Xtravisions are excellent! I have them on my car, they are not as white as the Silverstars, but they're brighter and you can see in the rain!! I just came home 15 minutes ago on a dark backroad with no streetlights and even on low beam, they provide great visibility! Check em out!!!

No, they don't. Brightness is measured in lumens. If you compare the lumens of stock, yellowish lights with those of Silverstars, you will see that stock bulbs output more lumens.

 

So what about 9008/H13 headlight bulbs? Anyone use these yet?

 

No. They don't and won't fit. Bigger number is not better.

So the Nokya Arctic White (stage II pro or whatever) bulbs listed on SCO are indeed 90/100w? You're saying that if I buy those in 9004 plus a 9004 plug-and-play harness that I'll be able to run the higher wattage bulbs and be perfectly fine?

These harness truly are PLUG-AND-PLAY, right? No soldering or anything required?

Really, to bad you can't afford those ricer bulbs, because your Halogens will never even be close to as bright as the HID's

Then it's false advertising. It says plug and play. It's not. If it requires splicing or soldering, it's not plug and play. That's what I wanted to know. If it's going to require me to splice, then it's not worth $25. I'll just go the extra mile and buy a 9007 conversion harness.

 

I've got HID, hence the reason I put HID > (greater than) * (all) ricer bulbs.
