Bad Grounds?

Alrighty, so last night in the garage I noticed when i turn my heat on, my headlights dim. Now is that a ground issue, or is the battery/alternator? My alt performs fine, starts on 1st crank, sounds alright, Battery is like 1 year old... Ground seemed like logical cause. Thanks in advance for responses! peace

I think a slight blip is ok - mine does that (especially during the winter months). Each time the compressor kicks in, the lights take a slight blip.

I think this is normal, isn't it? I always have noticed on both my Maximas that when you, say, roll up/down the windows (especially more than one at once), the headlights dim. It does suck but it is what it is.

I cleaned all ground connections using a Dremel Rotary grinder. It made lights brighter and car run better. I have a 1997.

Well if i roll all the windows AND close/open the sunroof all at once, they just stop. like it dies, but then i can do it again in like 5 seconds. weird isnt it!

How would I clean all the grounds on my 96 i30t? Or should I say where are "all" the grounds located? Because I too have the lights diming issue and my car is outta state so I'm guessing there's a lot of corrosion from moisture (the whole damn underbody of the car is rusted)...

Same thing happens to me... infact I can hear some type of overload relay click when I do this... listen carefully and see if hear anything right when the windows stop moving...

Are the location of all the grounds listed in the Chilton's manual?

im not sure, you would have to look up each components ground individually.

check the stickys on top, it should have several links, and places to purchase them

I've never done that. Sounds difficult, how many hands do you have?

The grounds need to be replaced as I see it, my car does the same exact thing. I cant even put in a subwoofer with a 600 watt. amplifier.

All the cars i've driven have done that. 1996 maxima, '98 4runner, '89 Taurus. Re-newing the grounds may help though.
