do you like our headlights?

I really do not like the look of our headlights. They are just not suited for this car. i would prefer something of a wrap around headlight, like on the s15 silvia, i know this cannot be done but we could at least have something done. the eyelids don't do it for me either, I just don't like the look. If you ask me i think this thread is probably pointless since nothing will be done, just curious if ya'll felt the same way.

and when i say how they look i am not reffering to light output, i am talking about overall design.

On a general scale of 1-10 i give it a 7.
For optics quality i give it a 9.

If they weren't so recessed and had a more forward position I'd give it 9 instead of a 7.

None of the above. I don't really care for any headlights on any new Japanese (term is used loosely) sedans. I think the Lexus ES is the worst looking one. It seems most are going for the similar look, up the hoods/fenders. Even the Merc CLS looks like ours w/ eyelids

I just wish the fog lights weren't integrated within the light housing. I would like them to be in the lower grill area like my 02 Max or like the Redline max bumper. Has anybody added a pair of driving lights to the OEM lower grill? If so, post a pic.

I like my headlights cuz I blackened the chrome insert. Even though its a lot of work, it changes the whole look of the car.

I like em, not as much as andymax, but I like em. If only i didn't need a degree in nuclear science to get to the bulbs, they'd be better

I know what your saying, my jdm yellow fogs burnt out and have a lifetime warranty, but to me its not worth the hassle to take them out and send them back, so I just went ahead and ordered a new pair

And I also got 1157 chrome amber bulbs and doing the Nismomax mod of only having the amber bulb ( the one above the headlight) turn on when executing the turn signal.

curve

I'm fine with the headlights. I think the housing design fits well with the body curve along the length of the car.

I like the chiseled look of the headlights it kind of reminds me of the escalade. I guess because of the sharp way they are made. It makes the car look mean. Epth the hid's it just stands out I can always spot a max's headlights at night.

Im sure if we get enough interest in LED tail lights there might be someone out there that could make them. LED technology is the new kid on the block so it shouldnt be too long till we see some. my .02

I saw them on the new M and they looked great. I even stopped the car to see if they were aftermarket. They are OEM.

Being a 5th gen owner, I gotta say, I love the way your gen Max looks when it's dark out...the light looks beautiful in those headlights.

I agree. The fog lights should be stand alone in appearance and operation. I'm happy with the appearance of the lights. I don't like the way they function. My complaints about their functioning:

- You should be able to have the fog lights on without also having the low beams on too. In fog you don't want too much light -- which is what you get with this setup.
- The parking light function should not come after the auto-headlight-on function (away from off) on the headlight switch. It should be the first option after off. The sequence for this switch should be off, parking lights on, auto-headlighs-on, headlights on.

I did not vote in your poll, because you did not offer the proper answers. My complaints are different from your appearance complaints.

I like the headlights I just don't like the fact we have to tear apart the front to replace any bulbss. This is too crazy and a super dealer money maker for the average Maxima owner. Us we're modders, but still a pain in the butt none the less. Does anybody knows on average how long does the bulbs we have in there last?

i like the design. But if you really didn't like the design, you can always spend some $$$$ and do a conversion.... i remember seeing this kid in my class pasting q45's headlights on the 6th gen and it looked different..

I seen the new 06 Z's have the led tail lights. They look sweet!!
So maybe in the near future we would have them for our max.

Not a bad question, but I have to admit, I really like the looks of the headlights. Possibly another style could compliment the vehicle more, but I like how they resemble the 350Z and Infiniti's. Just my opinion. PEACE OUT

Speaking of HID. Do any of you guy's get flashed at night by other people? I hate it when people turn on their Brights because of my HID lights.

I actually had a guy abruptly pull over and give me the finger because he thought I was following him with my high beams on. He was a dumb $hit so I just kept driving. Other than that, when I first got the car (Sept 2003) I got flashed a lot from people thinking I had my highs on, however now that more and more cars have HID, haven't been flashed once this year.
