Nope, never.

Theoretically though, if someone would be batsh*t-insane enough to try, they'd probably want to read this thread first:

It is not worth it, Your better off swapping an LS1 in, so far there are 15 maximas with the swap and two more currently being done

That doesn't seem like a smart thing to post.

A 3.5 swap? Come on, you gotta be joking, you have to use the 6-speed, and the entire front suspension has to be swapped, remember? The hood doesn't close, the engine sticks out about 3 inches, and you'll never get the 3.5 to fit, it's too big, you're gonna have to cut into the firewall. Not to mention the bigger engine is gonna throw off your weight distribution. Next you need custom axles, custom radiator, custom hood scoop.

Forget it man, the LS1 swap is WAY easier once you get the driveshaft tunnel issue ironed out. I swear, some people don't like the LS1 swap just because everyone and their grandmother has one in their maxima. Don't go through all that trouble just to be different, just swap an LS1 instead.

Hey NmexMAX, I just asked an honest question, what is wrong with that? I am new to the forum, and have seen nothing about putting an LS1 into a maxima, which is why i was asking.

All it takes is common sense to know an LS1 can't be swapped into a Maxima. That's why he said what he said. I was hoping you were being sarcastic...thanks for proving me wrong.

Wrong. It can be done. Anything can be done if you really want it.

Has anyone done it yet? No.
Will the outcome outweigh the cost? Probably no.
Impossible? No.

Carry on

VQ35 wouldn't be worth it in a 2k since you won't see the full gains you would with a 4th gen. only things i can think of it actually being worth it is one of the following:

1) your car has serious weight reduction.
2) you're swapping the ECU so you can keep the VTC.
3) you're getting the engine for CHEAP.
4) your DEK motor is blown.
