5spd Tranny prob. @ 67k?????

It sounds like one of the bearings inside my 5spd trans. is going according to my local shop. They put it on the rack, replaced the two shaft bearings outside the trans and it is still making the noise on the passenger side shaft.
This is ridiculous, 67K miles!!!
Any thoughts?? I 'm starting to miss my SHO more and more.

Getting my 5 spd fixed at 65,000 miles. 3 & 4 gear all chewed up , because of running it hard and missing shifts [crunch crunch]. Best thing to do is probably to replace the shifter bushing, they offer here at maxima.org. I plan on doing that right away.

Did the shop repleace your wheel bearings ? I guess thats what U mean by shaft bearings... did they do the hubs also ? ALOT of times on Maximas the hubs are scored from a wheel bearing and even if the bearing gets repleaced the noise will still be there. Its a possibility the bearings inside the tranny are cooked, but I would listen to the wheel bearings on a lift again before you shell out the cash for a tranny rebuild.

I'm actually looking for a new clutch kit for my 2000 SE 5 Speed. I have about 84k miles on the original clutch and its slipping pretty bad now. Does anybody know any reputable shops in the Long Island area?
