Suspension Upgrade

I am ordering springs this weekend for the max so that I won't have a 4x4 when new wheels are installed. Consider that this is a gxe with a huge gap in the wells with the oem setup. I was thinking eibach pro kit, but that is only a 1.5 front, 1.3 rear drop. Maybe not enough for 4x4 gxe? Should I go a little more like the Tein 2.0 drop or Sprint maybe? Input would be greatly appreciated.

i hope you understand that you are going to have to buw shocks also. you probably already knew that...

but as far as spring, i have s-techs on illuminas. i love the look as well as the handling. a lot of people bash them, but i feel that they are what i need. the eibachs are the best for auto x and such. teins are good quality but not the best ride, i suppose. look for pics of drops. check member's ride section.

Do you have a 5 speed or an auto? I have a 5 speed paired up with Illuminas and Tein H-Techs.The car sits slightly lower in the front rather than the other way around. I think all 4th Generation Maximas have the same mammoth wheel gap in the front. Be sure to get shocks / struts, don't put lowering springs on your OEM suspension.

yeah, the 4th gens tend to have a huge gap up front, and also experience greater drop in the front when lowered. I'm going to drop the car with oe shocks and struts for now, until I can afford a quality set. It doesn't really make that big of a difference if you ask me. I've had two cars that I've lowered with just spring changes 2" or less and had no problems or terribly rough rides. I changed out everything properly my third time, spent another 500 and realized a tiny bit of a more comfortable ride. Btw, the first two cars, yeah, the shocks and struts didn't wear out any faster than they would have if the stock springs were still in use.
