My 91 max GXE is leaking water from the wiper washer tank. How do I get access to it. It is some how bolted under a metal fender and only the plastic container bottle neck is sticking up.

You got to take off the plastic shield off under the car below the tank...

yes, that's correct. you have to rmove the wheel and then the plastic fender liner to access the reservoir.

there are two common problems with these things.

1. leaking tank. these things are two halves of plastic just glued together. a lot of the time, they will split down the seam and start leaking.

2. seal around the pump. there's a rubber seal around the pump and it just pressed into the bottom of the tank. that thing is only a couple of bucks and is common to leak as well.

If the tank itself is leaking, what you can do is empty it out so it's not leaking water, then clean up the area with cleaner/degreaser and then rub down with alcohol to remove all contaminants..
then take a piece of plastic (even a piece of old milk jug will work) and use some RTV silicone to glue a patch over it, patching the leak. it's not the prettiest fix in the world, but it's behind the fender liner and nobody can see it anyway.

 

Just take off the plastic cover directly under it to access the tank so you can find the leak,it might just be the seal around the washer motor...A good flashlight will help in finding the leak...

To remove the tank, i would take the plastic fender well out for easy access to the bolts...

It's leaking around the pump at the bottom of the tank. As Matt mentioned do I just replace the rubber seal (Where can I get one?) or must buy the whole pump.

Buy new generic reservoir/pump assy, 10$. Install, 5min.

 

Mine had a leak where the hose meets the tank. I put on a new hose clamp and solved the problem.

You should be able to figure out if your pump is still working. Just listen to it. You can probably figure out a way to repair the problem without buying a whole new one.
