Auto vs. 5-speed motor mounts

How are these different? Is either the front or the rear motor mount (or both) interchangeable between auto and 5-speed?

They should be the same....

Only one I think is different is the tranny mount, now that I think of it....they're probably the same too....

I would have thought so as well, but they're listed on car-part.com and everythingnissan.com's catalogue separately.

The auto has an electrically controlled front mount. Thats why they are listed differently.

So in terms of fitment, they are totally interchangeable?

The transmission mount is completely different and not interchangeable. I know the front mount is also different, but not sure if it's interchangeable.

The front and rear are completely interchangeable. SE and GLE autos had an electronic mount, but you wouldnt know the difference.

Nice. Thanks guys! You saved me a bunch of trouble!

Might as well say why I'm asking... I got some Energy Suspension motor mount bushings that I need installed. I have extra front and rear mounts just kicking around that I could drop off at the shop for them to press them in while I'm at work, which will save me some time with the install. The front mount is from an auto though, so I had to be sure it'd fit with my 5-speed.

Incidentally, anyone care for a beat front motor mount? Just pay shipping.

Okay, so much for that.... What I thought was my old auto front mount didn't fit on the front in my car, so maybe the front mount is not interchangeable between auto and 5-speed.

Time to hemmorhage more money to get that ES bushing pressed back out and into my existing front mount....

From what i recall on the thread in the GD section, cattman said that the ES motor mount bushings were only for MT, and would not fit in an auto mount. Its just a tiny bit to small.

Well im not sure if the manual mount can be used in place of an auto mount, but i think the ES inserts are made for the manual mount, which wont fit in the auto mount.

In case anyone cares, here's confirmation: The front and rear engine mounts have the same fitment for 5-speed and auto.

In autos the front mount may be electronically adjustable (by the ECU), while the 5-speed front mount is not. All that means is that if you swap it out for a 5-speed one, you'll have a wire dangling in the engine bay (which previously connected to the auto mount). It won't throw a CEL or anything though, so don't worry about it.

The only mount that is different between auto and 5-speed is the transmission mount.
