Sunroof not sitting flush

My sunroof does not sit flush towards the edge of the roof in the back particularly on the rear of the driver side. There's actually a 2-3 MM gap between the roof line and the rubber seal around the sunroof. I can actually fit half of my pinky in there. I've check it out and it does seem tight when it's up in the tilt position. However, when the sunroof is closed from the driver side I can prop it up and down atleast 1/2 an inch. I know Maximas with sunroofs in general sit a little low on the driver side to allow water to drain out and what not. But mine is sitting atleast 3-4 MM LOWER than all of my buddies Maximas with sunroof, on their sunroof you can not see a gap between the roof line and the rubber seal. On mine you can see a 2-3 MM gap between the roof line and the rubber seal. I have no idea how to fix this so I really, really am asking for your guys help. Thanks.

Where is your leaking? Onto the driver seat? Have you gotten it checked out?

I have the same problem with my car. what I have found is on the driver side there"s
a little bracket that is suppose to stop the sunroof when you close it. But the inside
of the bracket is broke and thats what is not alloying it to lock in place. compare by looking at the bracket on both sides where the sunroof tilts and you should see where one is broken on drivers side.

A little bracket hmm? I don't know where to look. Are you talking up the bracket that goes up and down with the tilt feature? Keep in mind the sunroof IS closing and opening fine, and tilting up and down fine. I am not able to move the sunroof up and down by hand when it's open in the highest tilt position. However, when the sunroof is completely closed, with the tilt completely off I can lift the sunroof 1/2 an inch on the driver side closest to the rear.

Guys I'm getting quite desperate here as I'm really afraid of leaks, my last resort would be the stealership.

you can get some shims and raise it, but it seems like you have something loose.

How will the shims work and where will I install them. I checked everything that can be loose. As far as I can tell there are 3 bolts that hold the sunroof I'm presuming to the frame, those are on tight. When the sunroof is open in the tilt position it does not move at all, in other words it does not feel loose. Only when it is completely closed, and only with the tilt option completely closed am I able to move the glass 1/2 an inch up and down. But what's boggling my mind is, there's absolutely nothing that the sunroof is sitting on. When I opened the roof completely I found 2 screws I tightened those up but it was to no avail. I really don't want to pay the dealership fees but am getting quite desperate.

take off the plastic trim held on with plastic screws. its tough to pull them out in one piece, but with some finesse they will come out. there will then be 4 gold nuts with shims between them and the black metal frame. you can buy more shims at an auto parts store. they are often found in the HELP brand section. they have assorted replacement parts in little packages, anything from specialy tools to odd little pieces.
