What?!

Why don't you wanna put it in tyour keyhole?! Seriously...how often do you not have your remote in your hand and not use it?! Don't hate technology...I have a camera in my keyhole and have no regrets whatsoever....I never used my key for my trunk in 3 years befoer I installed the camera there....its pretty descent and I believe is the best place (keyhole) for parking in any light...offers the best view....any lower it would get too dirty from road kickup...just my two cents....

I like the idea, I always find it difficult to park (I park in a parking garage at work where I generally have to back in) in the rain. Mainly because of 5% tint on top of the factory bronze tint. Can you imagine at night and raining. LOL, A camera would be nice at times, needs night vision though. Definately wouldn't be first on my list of things to do, but pretty cool anyway.

yeah they're pretty much worthless at night unless you are closer than two feet from a wall or a car...i belive people can get eh night vision ones for like $200 or more...not sure where though...All I know is that it is very helpful when parking at night and even in the day...I'm 80 for 80 since I've had it installed : ) not hits!

There is a lever in the trunk that disables the remote and the release button...I hope you know this

I dunno about you, but my reverse lights illuminate decently well.

Don't have a camera back there though.

I dunno, it's a cool little thing to have, but I would never use it, it just seems intrinsically wrong to be looking down and forward at your console while you're backing up... just too many things can happen that you will miss if you're absorbed in an LCD screen, even if it's a fisheye lens.

Yeah, but what will you do when someone, could be your little cousin, brother, whomever, decides to play with that lever and presses it down. Say bye bye to ever seeing your trunk again since the keyhole would be occupied by that camera. Once that lever is pushed down, you can only open it with a key.. No more trunk release by buttons anymore. So i'd rather keep my keyhole :-D

i have mine wire up to a switch, just something to show when i am going down the road. i have mine in my keyhole as well, and have had my trunk lever messed with. Get a stick and pop the lever back up solves take a long 2 min.

it is acuall cool to watch when you go down the road and in traffic but i have no reason to have it i just do.

Or unless your little cousin isn't an octopus. You're gonna have to be pretty damn young to get through there...

And what happens when your battery goes dead and you need to get your jumper cables out of the trunk? I'm keeping my keyhole.

keyhole = good
no keyhole = too much to go wrong.
putting it somewhere else may be worthwhile, but other than that, i dunno.

*IF* for some reason you can't open the trunk because you don't have a keyhole like me (because my carbon fiber trunk doesn't have a keyhole.. and it looks so much cleaner by the way), *AND* if you can't make use of the back-seat-to-trunk throughway, you can always just remove the whole back seat. Takes 5 minutes... it's like 6 bolts... I forget... but on the plating behind the seats, you do have to have a bigger hole than it already has, if you want to fit through.

I just ordered mine. Not that I need it, but just a nice feature to have. I was also wondering if there is anywhere else to install it besides the keyhole.

I just ghetto attachd mine under the car right below license plate and i love it it looks cool its a bit more noticble tho just got to make a bracket for it (pipe brackets work). Now i got a new problem since i wired the camera to my remote wire for my amp so it only goes on when the screen is on but when i play my mp3's the videos ****ing up i need like a video switch or something.

I like my keyhole! 1. because the last time they broke into my car at school... Too bad i was too far from my car for the Viper remote to go on. Besides i have my lever because i lock the trunk. I dont want anyone breaking into my car and opening the trunk and take my 15 rockford. They already stole my pioneer headunit. Thats my 2 cents.

I just had mine mounted in the Keyhole and it gets distorted from the exhaust fumes on a cold day. Other than that I love it.

That's what I'm talking about...no problems for me int he keyhole and the button has worked just as well as when i had a keyhole there...cold days make the lens foggy...more pros than cons this way!

You could put it tucked in under the top of the license plate holder. Some new Toyotas (Land Cruiser, Sienna, Sequoia) have back up cameras above the license plate, but the place for the license plate is usually in in the trunk or body, not like ours in the bumper. Do you have any pics of the camera??

If it is small enough, do you think it is feasible to put it in the LED bar on the spoiler?? Maybe wishful thinking, but stick it in the center and run wires with the light wires??

What kind of monitor/head unit do you have Infowire?

I have a 7" Soundstream VHR-76 and the JVC KD-DV5100 200$ for the screen and 280$ for the head unit. Only thing i dont like about the headunit it has no Pause button on the headunit itself just on the remote. As for my camera .. it gets firckking dirty at this time of the year!! i think im drill a hole in my bumper in the summer for it :P
