Isn't testors itself a type of clear coat? It says enamel when I looked at them online.
What kind of clear coat are you guys using on the nite shades? I have tried using clear coat on other things and it didn't like stay on (emblems and such) I think it was duplicolor clear coat.

Yeah I have had mine(bumper lenses) done for about half a year now and the only reason I believe it is fading to purple is because I used the wrong clear coat. But at night that does not matter because you cant see them anyway.

Sorry for a NOOB question, but what does the Clear Coat actually do? Protect the coat before it??

Yeh protects and gives it a more professional clean look, but it also makes it permanent.

My local Autozone and Pepboys no longer carry VHT Niteshades so I got mine from ebay. Be suer to buy more than you need just in case you run into a problem.

i dunno i could have sworn someone on here said it faded and turned green. maybe im wrong, but the candy apple red does fade and peel if you dont clear it.

The Niteshade tint may fade a little bit, making it lighter but it will not turn green. Be sure to use make it a little bit darker than you want it and use clear coats and you will not have any problems. My bumper and corner lights have been tinted for many months using this method and show no signs of fading or discoloring.

My guess would be 3 minimum if you want solid black like I did mine, although 1 would work if you just want a slight smoke tint..

I used nite shades on my gf's car and ended up having to take it off cause this guy refused to buy it with the tint on. It sucked taking it off. I wouldn't suggest it unless it's permanent.
