Pic of my new engine (slapped a little paint on)

Ok this is Altima engine I bought to put into my 95 GXE. Cleaned it up a bit and sprayed a bit of paint on.

Cams are going in just as soon as I get them back from Rob (Tilleys99) Hope I don't take too much of his time telling me how to get the cam timing correct.

It got me too, I was thinking why does the altima engine look like the vq30 Then I saw Nismo3112's post and realized that was his sig.

How much did the engine run you if you dont mind me asking?

Engine was $1k, has approx 6k on it. Virtually brand new, just painting so its easier to keep clean than bare aluminum.

The valve covers are 3.5 its just the plastic 3000 sign from my old 3.0L, don't want to advertise the 3.5 just keep it low key. The plastic cover for the 3.5 was broken when I got the engine and they just hold heat in anyway so I was just about to throw the old 3.0L sign away when I thought I would see if it would fit. Its going to take some additional holes because the originals don't line up with anything on the 3.5 valve covers and some plastic dremeling but it should be good for a laugh.

Planning on using the Kinetix SSV and they are HS's got them 2 years ago and they have served me well. That plus the new Dulobz cams should perk it up a little.

Alex everything got painted, the hardest was the timing chain, trying to get into all the little places you can't really see. It was easier to paint the injectors than cover them up so I just covered the connector.

I did the transmission today that was worse, took me 2 days to clean it, was really nasty. Now I want to try and keep it clean. My Son tells me its much easier to keep the painted surface clean than bare aluminum.

what cams are you referring to?
ebay $699 jwt copies?

oh yeah a big tip: make sure to use high temp clear coat, that way wiping the dirt off is a snap, and no residue on the paint with a nice glossy appearance, also great for brake calipers, Duplicolor Makes good high temp clearcoat.

that vq should be putting down some nice times either n/a or N2O'd

keep on tuning

Ya they are testing them on the Altima forum now, one has dynoed and the other is this week. Looks like around 15-20 HP. Rob has mine now for drilling and says they look really good. Now is the time to install them while I have the engine out and opened up.

Just so you know those cams advance the cam timing by 2 degrees when installed on a 3.5 with VTC's. You should mention that to tilley so he doesn't set the cam timing to stock 3.0 zero advance.
