Foglights on a GXE???

Hey do any GXE owners ('95) have foglights? I always wondered what those rectangular patches in the front bumper where it LOOKS like foglights go were. How would you install foglights? pics if you do? thanks guys! oh yeah and how much would i expect to spend on a new set of fogs?

GXE is NIssans BASE model. my 97gxe came with power windows/locks/brakes. NO sunroof or spoiler or rims or foglights or BOSE stereo. they were all optional back in teh day.
Install? cut the hole out, look for the harness that is tied up hidden somewhere connect to factory fog plug, install FOG lamp relay, switch out light switch stalk on steering column for a Headlight/fog stalk. (My 97 came pre-wired)
Cost? go to Customenterprises.com i think they have factory fogs for......200-300bucks. and that is all u need. Hardware/brackets/stalks relays fuses.

Just buy some used ones at a junkyard or something. MUCH cheaper.

...or you can go aftermarket. But most on here will agree the stock ones just look 1000000x better.

you could always swap the bumper out for one with brackets or even WITH foglights

try lookin around for Maxs getting parted or try and just collect the parts...

^ stock if you rather have it look nice but don't assume that the fogs will light up the road. If you want something to light up the road go aftermarket lights.

When I had my '95 Max, I had a base model GXE. Just to let you know, I was told from Nissan the '95 Max (and only the '95 model) couldn't upgrade to the foglights because of the reinforcement of the bumper for the brackets to hold the foglamps. In other words, you couldn't buy or install the bracket on the '95 bumper unless you swapped the SE bumper which came with the foglights. I always thought this was a crock....but, I'm sure since then, over time, maybe someone could have made this work. Like someone said before, you have to make a cutout in the bumper where the fogs go. For me, I would just save the hassle and time and just swap for another bumper from a junkyard and make it work. R.I.P. my '95!

The front bumper is just bolted on like the fenders.

I think the main part of the job would be wiring in the new fogs.

It only takes maybe 30 minutes to get the bumper cover off, then with that and the foam panel out of the way, there are just four 14mm (maybe 12, but I think 14) bolts that hold the bumper reinforcement in place.

Not sure about what was said about the 95 bumper, not being able to add/remove fogs, didn't think to check last time I took apart the front of my car.
