Installed new taillights and ran into issue sadly need help

I installed some new Custom Maxima red/clears for my 96, yes I know all about the fitment issues. The whole time my biggest worry was that it wouldn't sit right and look real weird but with my trusty dremel on side I got it to sit pretty dang flush but anyways I was messing with the lights and my brake lights were lit up with my lights on and I went to stick the bulb/harness into the light housing on my driver side taillight and the light quickly went out along with the passenger side. My reverse lights and turn signals work just fine and if I hit the brakes the tails light up but if I just have the lights on the taillights will not light up at all. I need to fix this quick and I tried a few things to get the lights to come back on, tried original bulb wiring from stock tails and still nothing. The driver side taillight wiring was tapped into by the original owner for an OEM spoiler, I thought the wires might have shaken lose by fiddling with them got me nowhere as well. Please offer any ideas....

It isn't the light bulb I have tried a few other bulbs and still the only time I can get them to light up is when I tap the breaks. Could it be a fuse?

Sounds like your blew a fuse.. carefully check all the fuses in the fusebox near the driver footwell.

Yeah its definitely one of your fuses, when I took out the CE red/clears to put back in my stock something must of touched and i blew a fuse on my tails. Simple as that.

His question has nothing to do with fitment.

Did you check the fuse?
