Buying new airbags, do i need a new module with it too? or can i use the old one?

Buying new airbags, do i need a new module with it too? or can i use the old one?

im buying airbags off a car, and i need to know if i need the module aswell, or if i could use my old module.

and where is the module located

The module is located directly beneath the armrest compartment in the center console, a small silver box. As far as I've read, the screws they use for it are tamper-proof proprietary ones, so you can't remove the module yourself.

Again, as far as I've read, once the airbags have deployed, the module can not be reset and a new one is needed.

do not use your old module, and you don't need special tools to remove it.

I'm not sure either if the module is a one time unit or not. Your probably better off just replacing the whole system anyhow.

The screws are torx with a nub in the center, the tool, torx with a hole in the center is easily purchased at any tool store. You can but the set or just the single size you need. (which I don't know)

The module is toast. On any Maxima when the bags blow the module fries itself. Have fun with the passengers side bag. One tool that will save you at least 30 minutes is a racheting 10mm wrench, The bolts on the side are in a tight space and just suck

yeah i work ay a junkyard you need to change the air bag module.it is located under console like the last few messages say,you can also tell any airbag parts or wiring usually have yellow or orange colors on wire covering.oh and the tools are called security torx just so the tool guy gives ya the right stuff.good luck

no the airbags have been off for awhile now, just wanted to know where the module was
